We’re waving goodbye to August and stepping boldly into all that September has to offer.

Hello & Welcome September Sun + Cool Nights

I love all things fall: the cozy décor, the mums on porches, the changing leaves, sweater weather, and football season. This time of year also feels like the perfect chance to reflect, reset, and lean into what matters.

That reflection for me has centered on something very personal: my health and weight journey. Over the last 20 years, I’ve been through almost every up and down you can imagine, some approaches healthy, others not so much. Almost a year ago, I committed to doing things differently. Slowly and steadily, I’ve focused on consistency, losing about half a pound to a pound per week while also getting my hormones figured out. Forty weeks later, I feel proud of the progress, but what’s surprised me most hasn’t been the journey itself; it’s been the comments (and honestly, the complete struggle of finding new clothes, lol!).

People who haven’t seen me in a while often focus on the “end result.” I’ve heard it all—“you’re too skinny,” “you look sick,” “you need to eat a cheeseburger,” and even that I’m being talked about at nail and hair appointments. Why are we so quick to critique someone else’s body? We’d never walk up to someone who gained weight and say, “Man, you should eat a salad.” Yet the reverse seems to be fair game.

Here’s the truth: you never know what someone else is going through. Words matter—especially for those just starting, struggling, or lacking support. A simple “you look great” might be the encouragement they need. And if you genuinely have concerns, share them privately, not in front of others. I’ve developed thick skin over the years, but not everyone can carry those comments.

As the seasons change, I encourage all of us to give a little more grace this fall. Let’s choose kindness over criticism and remember that we can’t know someone’s whole story just by looking at them.

🍂Just like the leaves remind us that letting go can be beautiful, may this season remind you that growth often comes after release.

With gratitude,

🍂Mindset Shift of the Month: Embrace the Season You’re In

Just as the seasons change, so do the seasons of our lives and businesses. Fall reminds us that letting go is not the end; it’s a necessary step to make room for growth. Trees don’t cling to their leaves, nor should we hold on to habits, commitments, or mindsets that no longer serve us.

This month, shift your perspective: Instead of resisting change, ask yourself, “What can I release to make space for something new?” Whether it’s a limiting belief, an old routine, or simply the idea that things must stay the same, remember that growth comes with change.

🍁Mini Fall Checklist: How to Enjoy the Season Most

  • Take a fall color drive or walk– soak in the beauty of the changing leaves.

  • Visit a pumpkin patch or apple orchard– bonus points for cider donuts.

  • Try a new cozy recipe– soups, chili, or anything with pumpkin.

  • Attend a football game– local, college, or pro, the energy is unmatched this time of year.

  • Switch up your space– add a fall-scented candle, warm blankets, or festive décor.

  • Host (or attend) a bonfire– perfect for s’mores and crisp evening air.

  • Refresh your routines– use the season change as a natural reset for habits
