APRIL 2026 EDITION

Pivoting, Persisting, and Not Letting the Detours Define You
Hello & welcome to spring — or at least, the version of spring we actually got.
April has been a month of reminders. Reminders that life does not care about your calendar. Those plans shift without warning. That the thing you were counting on can change overnight, and you still have to show up anyway. I've watched it happen around me more times than I can count this month. With clients, with colleagues, with people I care about. And I've felt it myself. You make a plan, you build momentum, and then something moves. A deal falls through. A relationship shifts. A season of life quietly ends before you are ready. And somewhere in all of that, a lot of people I've been talking to lately are feeling the same thing: stuck. Worn out. Like they're putting in the effort but not feeling seen for it. Like, it would honestly just be easier to pull back, play it safe, and stop trying so hard.
I get it. I really do.
Playing it safe feels like protection. But most of the time, it's just a quieter way of staying small.
Here's what I keep coming back to, though: the Fire Horse doesn't get to choose whether the terrain changes. It only gets to choose how it responds. This year was supposed to be about boldness and forward motion. And it still is. But I think April is teaching me, teaching a lot of us, that momentum doesn't always look like a straight line. Sometimes it looks like adjusting the plan without abandoning the goal. Sometimes it looks like getting back up quietly, without anyone watching, and choosing to keep going anyway.
If you're feeling invisible right now, I want you to hear this: you are not behind. You are not failing. You are in the middle of something that requires more from you than you expected, and that is not the same as things going wrong. The people who feel most stuck right now are often the ones who care the most. Who wanted it the most. Who gave the most and are running low. That matters. That's worth acknowledging.
But I'd also gently say this: you don't get unstuck by waiting for the right moment. You get unstuck by making one small move, even when you're tired. Even when it doesn't feel worth it. Even when no one claps.
A gentle reflection for you
Where are you holding yourself back because it feels safer than risking disappointment?
What changed recently that you haven't fully given yourself permission to grieve?
Who around you is running low right now — and have you told them you see them?
What is one small, honest move you could make this week that your future self would thank you for?
May is coming. And with it, a chance to reset, not because April was a failure, but because we're learning as we go. That's the whole point.
Keep going. You're more on track than you think.
With love,

This Month's Book Recommendation
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
by Mark Manson
If you’re in a season where you’re overthinking, second-guessing, or letting other people’s opinions take up way too much space in your head… this one’s worth your time.
📖The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson
This isn’t your typical “stay positive” type of book..
It’s a straight-up reminder that you don’t have unlimited energy to care about everything… so you better be intentional about what actually deserves your attention.
The biggest takeaway for me: Not everyone gets a vote in your life.
We spend so much time worrying about how we’re perceived—what people think, what they might say, how something could be received—that we end up holding back, playing small, or not moving at all.
This book challenges that.
It pushes you to:
✔ Get clear on your values
✔ Stop seeking approval from people who aren’t living your life
✔ Make decisions based on what actually matters—not outside noise
Because at the end of the day, if you let other people’s opinions dictate your actions… you’re building a life for them, not for you. And that’s a losing game.
✨ The goal isn’t to stop caring—it’s to care better.
To focus on what aligns with who you are and where you’re going… and let the rest fall away.
If you’ve been needing that reminder to trust yourself a little more and filter out the noise—this is it.

My Plastic Detox Rapid Hole:
I went down a rabbit hole after watching Plastic Detox— and honestly, I haven't been able to unsee it. It's one of those documentaries that quietly changes the way you look at your own kitchen. I'm not here to be dramatic about it, but I am making some simple swaps, and I thought you might want to, too.
Nothing overwhelming. Just a few easy places to start:
🫙Glass storage containers
Instead of plastic Tupperware — especially for anything you're reheating. This one felt like the easiest place to start.
🪵Wooden cutting boards
Plastic cutting boards shed microplastics every single time you cut on them. A wood board lasts longer anyway.
🥤Stainless steel shaker bottles
If you're doing protein shakes or smoothies, this swap is worth it — especially since plastic bottles break down faster with repeated use.
💧Stainless steel water bottle
Ditch the plastic water bottles for good. Stainless steel keeps your water cold longer and doesn't leach anything into what you're drinking. A win on both counts.
🍯Beeswax wrap
A great alternative to plastic wrap for covering bowls or wrapping food. Reusable, compostable, and honestly kind of charming.
